Privacy Policy

At Tourify we are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy describes how we collect, use and protect your personal information.

1. Information we collect

We collect information you provide to us directly, such as:

  • Account data: name, email address and profile photo.
  • Content you create: reviews, photos, trips, comments and experiences you post on the platform.
  • Photos: the images you choose from your gallery or take with the camera for your profile or for a place. We only access the ones you select.
  • Location: with your permission and only while you use the app, to show you nearby places and guide you on your routes. We do not store it except in Connect.
  • Connect: if you turn on Connect we store your profile, interests, friend requests, groups, the plans you propose (place, time and whether they are public or friends-only) and the messages you send. If you share your approximate area (rounded to ~1 km), other travelers can see it. You can hide yourself or delete your Connect profile at any time.
  • Tour bookings: when you request a tour we store the departure, the number of people, your phone or WhatsApp number and any note you write, along with the status of the booking and its payment.
  • Messages with guides: conversations between travelers and guides are stored to coordinate bookings. The Tourify team only reviews them if there is a report or a dispute.
  • Guides: if you sign up as a guide we store your public name, photo, bio, city, languages, WhatsApp and license number. Your public profile shows your name, photo, bio, city and languages; your WhatsApp is only visible to a traveler with a confirmed booking with you.
  • Reports and blocks: when you report or block someone we store the reason so we can review the case.
  • Usage information: screens visited, searches made and features used.

2. How we use your information

  • To provide and improve our services.
  • To personalize your experience and recommendations.
  • To send you relevant notifications about activities and events.
  • To keep the platform secure.
  • To analyze how the app is used in order to improve our features.

3. Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data in the following cases:

  • With other users: your username, photo and public activity are visible on the platform.
  • Between traveler and guide: when you request a tour we share your name, photo, phone number and the booking note with the guide. Once the guide confirms, we share their WhatsApp with you.
  • Service providers: companies that help us operate the platform (Supabase, Vercel, Apple Maps and Google Maps for maps, OpenStreetMap for searching places), under confidentiality agreements.
  • AI planning: when you ask your guide to put a trip together, we send the destination, dates, your notes and your interests to Anthropic (Claude) to generate the itinerary.
  • Legal requirements: when required by law or by competent authorities.

4. Storage and security

Your data is stored on servers managed by Supabase, with encryption in transit and at rest. We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss or disclosure.

5. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the information we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Delete your account and associated data at any time from Settings → Delete account.
  • Object to the processing of your data for marketing purposes.

6. Analytics and similar technologies

We use analytics technologies to understand how our platform is used. On the web we use cookies and Vercel Analytics, which you can disable in your browser settings. In the mobile app we do not use advertising cookies or track your activity outside Tourify.

7. Minors

Tourify is not directed to children under 13, and Connect (meeting other travelers and chatting) is only for people over 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us so we can delete it.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through a notice in the app or by email. Continued use of Tourify after the changes means you accept the new policy.
